Chief Bean Lisa Lowry, owner of Balanced Beans Bookkeeping, has been doing business in the world of finance for over 20 years. Her formal eductation is a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary where she majored in Management Information Systems. She has worked both in information technology, as a systems analyst/developer, and in finance, as a bookkeeper, controller and staff accountant.
Lisa has always had an interest in finance and her bookkeeping career began at a young age with the family business. She has worked both as an employee and independently for a variety of clients in many industries including real estate management/investment, marketing, consulting, entertainment, construction, transportation, public practice, and retail. Lisa's specialty is bookkeeping for real estate entreprenures. As Lisa is an investor, entreprenure and REIN member herself, she brings extra insight to her clients.
As an analyst/developer Lisa has over 10 years experience and has participated both as team member and project manager in planning, analysis, and implementation of solutions in support of business objectives. She has hands on experience with all stages of the development life cycle, including requirements definition, design, development, testing, and support. She excels at compiling end-user manuals and training materials, and presenting demonstrations and status updates to clients. Her industry experience includes oil and gas (upstream and downstream), construction, transportation, airline and government (environment and human resources).
Lisa enjoys learning about different industry and business practices, and excels in developing client relationships through clear and responsive communication. Her experience combined with her education has given her a sound foundation for understanding business process and the needs of her clients.
